frequently asked questions

This is a question we get asked frequently and the simple answer is YES! Your bath would be removed and the existing waste pipes for the bath would be replaced with new pipes below floor level. A new shower tray to suite the space would then be fitted.

This can involve in some cases drilling new holes through your floor joists to allow for the new shower waste pipe to be located, which is a simple job and usually takes around 4-5 hours for the new shower tray to be installed. In 98% of upstairs bathrooms the new shower tray would be flush with the floor level, with a small raised shower tray area from 25mm-40mm high.

For more questions on Shower trays or having a Wetroom style shower room, please look through more of our Frequesntly asked question.

Done correctly, having an upstairs Wetroom will be more waterproof and stand the test of time over a traditional bathroom. So the answer to this question is YES!

When having a new wetroom all the floor area/shower area walls and 300mm high on all other walls are waterproof tanked, making the entire water zone areas and floor areas fully waterproof.. In replacement of a traditionol shower tray a Wetroom floor Former is installed 100% level with the entire floor area in the shower location with built in floor gradients to allow the water to run into the new waterproof drain. The remaining floor area is then fitted with waterproof backer boards layed in such a way that all water splashes or residue water will always flow towards the new floor drain.

Changing the location of your toilet/bath or shower , can in most cases always be done! The layout of your bath or shower room is so important for the room to work for you and be fully functional.

Changing the toilet location can sometimes require new external soil pipe ( thats the external waste pipe for all the waste water)  drainage being installed in some casesand a new 110mm core hole to be drilled for the toilet wastes new location and the pipework for the sink/bath respectivelly.

Changing the location of the toilet will always add an additional cost for alterations to the current pipework, but through our experience and customer feedback , the cost is minimal in comparison to the overall functionality of the new bathroom or shower room.
